Catalogation
Here I offer you some practical advises about catalogation of fruit labels: these advises come from my personal experience. Obviously, all collectors follow own modus operandi and, so, we cannot write complete rules: it should be arduous and producing reverse effects. I ask to fruit labels collectors, who will visit my site, to inform me about their catalogation way, so I can explain them in this page.
NECESSARY MATERIAL
The material you need is easy available:
- sheets for printer
- a cutter
- a square or a ruler
- a stamps’ holder
- … and fruit labels, of course!
INSTRUCTIONS
First stick your labels on a sheet. It happens often that adhesive loses its effects: add some glue on the back of label. Be sure the back of label is clean. If a label come from a kiwi, some down remains on the adhesive. This down, when you stick label on the sheet, will cause some protuberances, damaging the label. Then, take the square- or the ruler- and cut by the cutter a little frame around the label (6 mm. maximum), so you can get a sort of little square. Now you can insert your label in the stamps holder.
If you want get a professional - and maniacal- touch on your work, take also tweezers and magnifier. You need the tweezers to insert and take off the labels from the stamps holder and the magnifier when you are not able to recognize at first sight all elements of the label.
